What with preparing our gardens for the winter and ensuring our homes are warm and comforting, little time is left for the more important aspects of self-development.
Often this time of year is full of anxieties about what lays ahead in terms of winter chill, darker days and precious little cheer in terms of hope for the future. Many of us tend to withdraw into ourselves more during these next few months than at any other time in the year, and so we need to find ways to contend with this.
Keeping things bright is imperative. Lightening our own aspects is an important part of this as not only do we ‘wear’ the gloom, impacting detrimentally on everyone else, but we cover ourselves remorselessly with everyone else’s silt – it’s a no win situation.
So we need to find ways to keep ourselves from attracting this, thereby giving us the parenthesis from which to escape from it.
Firstly we need to consider what keeps us ‘bright’ and what matters the most to us. If we’re not sure of this then this is the first place to start.
